Low-Income Subsidy (LIS) Extra Help Program
The Low-Income Subsidy (LIS) Extra Help program is a discount plan to assist eligible individuals with their Part D Prescription Drug Plan. The LIS program can help pay the Part D monthly premium, lower the cost of prescriptions drugs at the pharmacy, and eliminate the “donut hole”. (The “donut hole” occurs when the Medicare beneficiary surpasses the prescription drug coverage limit of $2,960 and is financially responsible for 55% of the cost of brand-name drugs and 35% the cost for generic drugs until the expenses reach the catastrophic coverage threshold of $6,680.)
Eligibility is based on monthly income and assets. If you would like to find out if you are eligible for “Extra Help” with your Medicare Part D coverage, we can help - call 800-582-7277 and ask for Kristy Bowman, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
